So there is a serious incompatibility between the laws governing macroscopic objects (black holes) and those governing microscopic ones, as we know them. This discord is telling us that a new synthesis is required. One that explains both sets of laws in terms of a more fundamental concept. Ironically this new synthesis, that of the microscopic and macroscopic, takes us full circle back to the Harmony of the Spheres.
