Symmetry is a cornerstone of Modern Physics. We have already seen the popular definition of symmetry. Physicists use a related, but much more pragmatic definition. The following one is due to the German mathematician Herman Weyl. ``A thing is symmetrical if one can subject it to a certain operation and it appears exactly the same as before''.
