In the 17th century, Sir Isaac Newton formulated his Law of Universal
Gravitation to explain the observed motions of astronomical objects such
as the moon and the planets. It can be summarized in words as:
``Every particle attracts every other particle with a force that is
proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional
to the distance between them''
