Displacement

In Figure 3.2, an object is at position $\vec{r_{i}}$ at time ti (point P). Some time later, tf , the object is at position $\vec{r}_{f}^{}$ (point Q). The displacement vector of the object is given by:

$\displaystyle\Delta$$\displaystyle\vec{r}$ = $\displaystyle\vec{r}_{f}^{}$ - $\displaystyle\vec{r}_{i}^{}$ (1)
